For your first class:

Take it easy honey!

  • Everyone starts as a beginner, so don’t worry about what shape you are in. Just show up and take it easy as you learn the postures and acclimate to the heat.

  • Tell your teacher that you are new and let them know if you have any injuries. Our teachers work the desk, so the person leading you through class will always be there to greet you at the door.

  • If you’re taking a hot class, remember to hydrate. Drink plenty of water the entire day before you come and bring a water bottle with you. You can bring electrolytes, or we have some for sale at both studios as well as coconut water and juice for all your hydration needs.

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes early. There is nothing worse than rushing into yoga on your first day. Latecomers will not be admitted into class, and we ask that you always stay for the entirety of the class.

  • It is recommended that you do not eat a large meal 3 hours prior to class. If you are starving and need to eat something, have some fruit!

  • Wear whatever you’re comfortable in. Tight fitting clothes are ideal, and for your own comfort avoid wearing cotton.

  • You’ll need a mat, a towel (a big bath towel), water and that’s it! You get to leave everything else (phones, apple watches, stress, anxiety) outside the yoga room! We have mats and towels for rent if you forget yours.

  • You never have to pre-register for our classes. You certainly can register online if you find it motivating, but we are always happy to have drop-ins.

  • Bring an open mind! All classes are open to beginners, but you are in a different space everyday mentally, emotionally, and physically. Do the best that you can, even if that means you end up taking a hot nap.

  • SHOW UP. Getting yourself to class is the hardest part. So pack your bag now, and get yourself into the studio! You’ll always be happy that you came to yoga class.
