Bikram and Vinyasa Teacher
Rachel started practicing Bikram yoga while going to college at the Univeristy of Kansas in 2009. She didn’t instantly fall in love, but she did instantly feel better. So she kept practicing, and over time noticed that she had stopped getting sick and her body felt better than she knew it could feel. After two years of practicing, she decided to take a chance, and rather than attend graduate school for Speech-Language-Hearing like she had planned, she attended Bikram’s Teacher Training in fall 2011 in LA. It was one of the best decisions she’s ever made. She has since also taken Jared McCann’s 200hr Vinyasa teacher training and Ida Ripley’s Yin96 training. In 2013 Rachel moved to RVA to teach for Bikram Yoga Richmond for what she thought was going to be a 3 month stint. Flash forward to today and she is now a studio owner. Rachel’s favorite thing about this yoga practice is that anyone can do it and in any given class there are people from all backgrounds and students with all different levels of physical abilities. You can catch Rachel teaching and/or practicing at the studios almost every day.
Outside of the hot room Rachel loves to read, spend time with friends, take care of her plants (she’s the person responsible for all the plant babies at the studios) and be outside.
